The Citrix problem

On March 5, 2023, Citrix changed the license model to a pure subscription model, which in our view puts you as a customer at a considerable disadvantage. Citrix is displaying absolute arbitrariness in its new pricing and in some cases is charging up to 80% more for the same services.

 

The new subscription model also means that you lose ownership of the software and are at the mercy of further price changes from Citrix.

The story of LemoniaX

Strengthening companies instead of being squeezed out

During my work as an entrepreneur and consultant, I repeatedly saw how large software manufacturers put companies under financial pressure. In the enterprise sector in particular, customers were increasingly squeezed like lemons - with opaque license models, rising costs and questionable auditing practices.

 

Together with other CIO and IT users, we developed a strategy with which companies could defend themselves against this pressure. The core idea: no longer see software manufacturers as untouchable entities, but actively negotiate better conditions and find alternative ways.

 

This strategy was a turning point for many companies. Instead of being blackmailed by manufacturers, they began to strengthen their negotiating position and examine new, independent solutions.

 

LemoniaX: Independent IT support as a logical consequence

With the experience of two decades in the IT business, I realized that companies needed independent support for their Citrix and VMware environments more than ever - not driven by vendor interests, but by their actual needs.

 

That's why I founded LemoniaX with the aim of filling this gap. Our focus is to help companies optimize their IT costs, minimize security risks and regain control over their software assets.

 

Third-party software support, which we offer for Citrix and VMware, is not a new invention. This model has been established for years - especially for IBM, Oracle and SAP. Outside Germany, it is widespread and has proven to be a cost-effective alternative to manufacturer support. In Germany, on the other hand, third-party support has only gained moderate acceptance to date - often because companies are not aware of the possibilities and advantages or feel unsure whether they can go down this route.
